What would Mardi Gras parades be without our sassy, sequined, irreverent dance troupes and marching clubs? Learn about 40+ marching groups like the 610 Stompers, the Pussy Footers, and Roux La la here. Women who dance together during Mardi Gras create bonds unlike any other. From hours of practice to perfecting costumes to performing in parades, dance krewes make the most of the two Carnival months. The 610 Stompers performing one of their dances while marching down the parade route. Started in 2009, the 610 Stompers are a all-male dance group in New Orleans. [1] [2] Named for the Superdome section where the founder, Brett Patron (“Slab”), had season tickets to the New Orleans Saints, the 610 Stompers march in Mardi Gras parades, perform at charity events, and dance at halftime shows.
