When is Mardi Gras 2025? This year, Mardi Gras, which translates from French to "Fat Tuesday," is on March 4. Ash Wednesday is on March 5, the day marking the start of the 40-day Lenten season The Fountain City Mardi Gras Association hosts 8th Annual Mardi Gras 5K, Parade, and Festival in Columbus, GA. The festival will take place in Downtown Columbus, GA. The festival is a family-friendly event filled with vendors, pageantry, youth attractions, food trucks, community tailgates, celebration of Mardi Gras and Carnival culture.
