Donaldsonville and Gonzales will celebrate Mardi Gras this year with parades through the two Ascension Parish cities. The season also includes local events to mark the Mardi Gras season. The Krewe of Ascension Mambo parade will begin at 2 p.m. Feb. 22, the organization has announced. The Gonzales Mardi Gras parade will begin at 2 p.m. on February 22nd. Irma Boulevard will close at 10 a.m. for parade staging. The parade route concludes at Highway 30. The Gonzales Police Department announced the road closure schedule ahead of the Mardi Gras parade set to roll at 2 p.m. Feb. 22.
