Our 2025 Mardi Gras Parade will take place on Tuesday,March 4, at 10 a.m. The history of the Gulf Shores Mardi Gras parade dates back to 1978 when a group of locals decided Gulf Shores needed a parade. Those locals formed the Pleasure Island Players and thus Mardi Gras began in Gulf Shores. Gulf Shores Mardi Gras Parade. Originated in 1978 by the local Pleasure Island Players, the City of Gulf Shores takes the lead these days in organizing its Mardi Gras parade on Fat Tuesday. Featuring the Mystic Order of Shiners, the oldest Mardi Gras parading order in Baldwin County, the parade has continued to grow each year. The Gulf Shores Mardi Gras Parade is the biggest parade in the area, drawing crowds from near and far. Scheduled for Fat Tuesday, March 4, 2025, the Mardi Gras parade begins at 10:00 a.m. on West 19th Street. The 45th Annual Mardi Gras Parade will begin at the intersection of Highway 59 and East Beach Boulevard (Highway 182) and will travel along East Beach Boulevard to the Gulf State Park Pier Road.
