Mardi Gras at The Wharf is Washington DC's biggest Mardi Gras parade. The event on March 1, 2025 will feature floats, beads, fireworks, and live music. Southwest DC’s Wharf will bring back its annual Mardi Gras parade and day-long party, complete with stilt walkers, a brass band performance on the pier, and fireworks right after sundown. The parade will begin marching along Wharf Street at 3:30 p.m., next to the water, and end at Parker Row, near Hell’s Kitchen. With walkers, jugglers, floats and the Mardi Gras King and Queen, the parade will feature special performances from the Eastern High School Marching Band, Batalá Washington, The Experience Band & Show. 3:00 PM – Mardi Gras activities begin and the District Pier bar opens. 3:30 PM – Mardi Gras parade begins on Wharf Street. 4:30 - 7:00 PM – Dance party and live music on District Pier and Transit Pier ~6:30 PM – Fireworks Finale * This event is rain or shine. Actual event times may vary, pending parade progress. Before Mardi Gras: St. Vincent Wine kicks off celebrations with a Lundi Gras bash on Monday, March 3, starting at 5 p.m. A $20 ticket includes a welcome Hurricane, raffle entry, Mardi Gras beads, and enjoying live music by jazz band Joe Brotherton Trio.
