Mardi Gras organisers are preparing for a "leaner" parade this year after last year's event saw a drop in attendance from an expected 250,000 to a reported 120,000. 7:00 p.m. George P. Mitchell Mardi Gras Award Honoree Parade Following the George P. Mitchell Mardi Gras Award Presentation, this is the first parade to Kick Off Mardi Gras Galveston 2025! This parade is packed with marching bands, dancing squads & tons of energy. After the parade, the official Mardi Gras party will take place at Hordern Pavilion in Moore Park from 10pm. The NSW government announced extended trading hours for bars, clubs, restaurants Tickets for the Mardi Gras Party after the parade at the Entertainment Quarter are still available. The event will feature international musicians and DJs, keeping the party going until 6am.
