Mardi Gras in Little Rock is celebrated by two major community events, both with a flair inspired by Arkansas’s neighbors to the south. Little Rock’s annual Mardi Gras events make a perfect highlight of any early-spring visit to the city. Visitors are quick to see that Little Rock puts its own unique stamp on iconic Mardi Gras celebrations. Barkus on Main is Little Rock’s largest Mardi Gras dog event of the year! The Mardi Gras dog parade will feature entertainment for both two and four-legged attendees, a beer garden, a hurricane station, gumbo, crawfish boil, plenty of beads, and local vendors showcasing products that are bound to make you and your woof drool! The parade is part of the all-day block party, including the post-parade Little Rock Beard & Mustache contest. SoMardi Gras, SoMa’s annual Mardi Gras celebration, is set to make its return to Main Street on Saturday, March 1. The 15th annual festivities start at 11 a.m. with a parade full of floats, cars, walkers and pets all set around this year’s theme of “SoMardi Gras Disco,” so we expect plenty of bellbottomed goodness.
