New Orleans takes Mardi Gras seriously, with traditions including king cake and parades beginning in January and lasting for weeks until the actual holiday itself. Mardi Gras Parade Schedule. Mardi Gras is more than just a day, or one week, or even a weekend. We’ve made it easier than ever to have the parade schedule at your fingertips! The Knights of Babylon parade will start at the intersection of Napoleon Avenue and Magazine Street in New Orleans. The parade will proceed north until St. Charles Avenue, where the krewe will turn east (right). After the 2021 Mardi Gras season's slate was canceled by the COVID-19 pandemic, everything appears to be on track for the 2022 season in New Orleans and across South Louisiana. Founded in 1993, the Krewe of Orpheus takes its name from Zeus and Calliope’s musically inclined son.
