Rampart and Burgundy streets in the French Quarter and features the private collection of its owner, Carl Mack, a costumer and entertainer known as The Xylophone Man. It’s one the largest personal collections of Mardi The museum is interesting and trying on the costumes was enjoyable but my sister, daughter and I were not impressed with the presentation of the history behind Mardi Gras. The owner and staff were trying to be entertainers signing and making jokes, not worth the $15 ticket price. The Costumes are exquisite, the guide/owner Carl Mack brought you into the world of NOLA Mardi Gras with a wink and a nod. I LOVED IT, and so did the family!!! I highly recommend visiting the Mardi Gras Museum of Costumes and Culture. We visited the Mardi Gras Museum of Costumes and Culture on a recent trip to New Orleans. The tour was really interesting. Our guide explained the historical background of celebrations like Mardi Gras, as well as the historical and cultural origins of the elaborate costumes.
