Homemade floats have always been a staple of this unique Shreveport Mardi Gras Krewe of Krewes – they are encouraged. Since the first parade rolled through the neighborhood with approximately 30 throwers and attendance in total, the idea has been the same: to promote the tradition of Mardi Gras and the Highland Historical District. My experience at the Faquetaique Courir de Mardi Gras outside Eunice was like visiting another country, really. It was a Cajun world I knew nothing about. It's hard to believe, but Mardi Gras season is nearly over. Don't miss these special treats in Shreveport and Bossier. Krewe of Gemini parade also is 3:30 p.m. March 1. The parade parades will run along Clyde Fant Parkway, beginning downtown, turning west at Shreveport-Barksdale Highway and then south along E. Kings.
