Founded in 1947, the city’s second-oldest truck parade has over 2,500 male and female riders. While the krewe sets no overall theme, each truck represents a different Carnival organization with its own title and theme. The Krewe of Tucks began in 1969 as a group of Loyola University students. Route: Port Allen, winding through historic neighborhoods. Celebrating 40 years with a family-friendly atmosphere. The number of riders on a truck will be determined by each individual club. Trucks must not exceed 65 feet in overall length [from front bumper of tractor to back bumper of trailer]. Trucks cannot exceed a height of 13 feet a 10 feet in width. All trucks must have sides constructed to a length of not more than 1 foot [12 inches] from the ground. The Krewe of Argus, founded in 1972, includes 450 male, female and child riders.
