The University is closed on Lundi Gras, Monday, March 3 and Mardi Gras, Tuesday, March 4. Mardi Gras is an exciting time, particularly in a culturally rich location like New Orleans. There will be no shuttle service on Lundi Gras, Monday, March 3 or Mardi Gras, Tuesday, March 4. Regular shuttle schedules will resume on Wednesday, March 5. On Thursday, Feb. 27 and Friday, Feb. 28, the Green Line will end service after the 5:00 p.m. stop at the Wave City Market. Tulane Campus Recreation will have adjusted hours from Friday, Feb. 21, to Sunday, March 9, due to Mardi Gras parade days and the university's Spring Break holiday (March 1-9). The 2025 Mardi Gras Guest Registration Form is now closed. During Mardi Gras, Tulane University residents are extended the privilege to host one guest per resident. If their guest is not a Tulane student they must register their guest with Housing & Residence Life prior to their guest arriving Tulane shuttle services will NOT run on Lundi Gras (Monday, March 3rd) and Mardi Gras (Tuesday, March 4). Regular shuttle service will resume on Wednesday, March 5th. For graduate students living downtown, the area will get very densely populated over the Deep Gras period and it will be very difficult to get into and out of the area with ease. In Apple Calendar, go to File > New Calendar Subscription, paste the URL, and click Subscribe. In Outlook , go to Add Calendar > Subscribe from Web , enter the ICS URL, and save. This method is useful for syncing holidays, team schedules, or events that may change over time. Late Guest Registration begins at 4:00 PM on the Thursday before Mardi Gras and continues until Noon on the Monday before Mardi Gras (also known as Shrove Monday or Lundi Gras). The fee for Late Guest Registration is $600. The word "Mardi Gras" means "Fat Tuesday" in the French language. Celebrations include festivals, parades, dancing and feasting before the fasting starting on Ash Wednesday Days to Mardi Gras 2026.
