As mentioned above, a visit to Mardi Gras World starts with a 60 min tour. Ensure to arrive early and upon entry, visit the desk inside the gift shop to check in for the tour – you’ll be decked out with some beads to get you in the spirit of the festival. And this year, Mardi Gras World is responsible for providing all the floats for 18 of those parades. Not only does Mardi Gras World made floats, they also made other iconic statues around the country, including standing M&M’s in New York and Las Vegas and the infamous Chick-fil-a cows. However, this process may take longer than you can imagine. Mardi Gras World is open year-round and offers tours that allow visitors to see how Mardi Gras floats are made. The tour includes a visit to the float-building workshop, where artisans create and paint floats. Visitors can also see the float-dressing room, where costumes and props are prepared for Mardi Gras parade participants.
