Mardi Gras World is the most unique attraction in America’s most uniquely attractive city. Definitely worth the money for an afternoon or morning of fun and Mardi Gras is an integral part of the culture of New Orleans - like Loup mentioned, his mother-in-law participated for more than 50 years. This isn't *just* a big party, it is a cultural event spanning weeks with lots of parades, balls, and other events that go on. As for Mardi Gras World, seeing the floats being made is actually pretty interesting. Last time we went was several years ago, when we had relatives visiting, and getting to see the float builders and artists working was great. Some parts of Mardi Gras world are silly, but if the builders/artists are there, it is nice to see them in action. Mardi Gras World is open 7 days a week, from 9:00am to 5:30pm, with the first admission beginning at 9:00am and last admission at 4:30pm. Tourist or Local, Mardi Gras World is worth a visit while in the Big Easy. Practically all floats are stored in this massive warehouse. This location is where creativity happens. The design team/artists do all the work within these confines and while on tour we got a chance to see them in action. Our tour was under an hour in length.
