Mardi Gras is an integral part of the culture of New Orleans - like Loup mentioned, his mother-in-law participated for more than 50 years. This isn't *just* a big party, it is a cultural event spanning weeks with lots of parades, balls, and other events that go on. Given that Mardi Gras is the culmination of a month-long party, any skillful local will avoid drinking the whole keg in a single night. Very literally speaking, Mardi Gras is a day, Fat Tuesday, March 4 in 2014. Carnival is the season that ends on Fat Tuesday, which is the day before Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. Being entirely too literal, but for the sake of example, saying Mardi Gras day is redundant, like saying Fat Tuesday day. 📍 New Orleans, Louisiana. Ahh, Mardi Gras. The Havana decks on the Vista and Horizon are totally worth it for the "privacy". A bit confused by the Havana layout melding into the summer landing layout on the Mardi Gras, so we went spa cove for our upcoming 2021 cruise. I have it booked for the Magic in January. We finally stayed in a Spa cabin on Mardi Gras this past January which I didn't like at all. Ok, I liked the cabin and the Spa concept but they seemed to cheap out on the Spa part on the MG and there isn't even an ocean view. Like the other poster said, there is no sea view from the thermal suites. It was generally full and we went back when the ship was running at half capacity.
