Mardi Gras Ball. On February 8, 2025, we celebrated the 43rd anniversary of My Friend’s House and the 21st anniversary of the Mardi Grad Ball. The 2025 King and Queen are Matt and Julie Brown. Together with our other two court couples and board members, we had another record year and raised over $195,000 for My Friend's House. The evening commences with a lively, Mardi-Gras-like-parade entrance and includes top-notch entertainment, first-class cuisine, an informative program, the revealing of the MGB King and Queen, and culminates, of course, with dancing throughout the night. Mardi Gras Ball is an event not to be missed with all proceeds benefiting My Friend's House. My Friend’s House is a group home serving neglected, abused, or at-risk boys, ages 12-18, in State custody by offering a home-like environment with a balance of safety, structure, encouragement, care and expectations. Our mission continues in advocating for each resident that they be given the opportunity to recover from their adverse situation and become successful young adults. On February 18, My Friend’s House will announce which court couple will be crowned this year’s Mardi Gras King and Queen. The Mardi Gras Ball has earned a reputation for being a highlight of the year in Williamson County, and As a corporate sponsor, you partner with My Friend’s House in providing life-changing care to the boys in our program. There are varying levels of sponsorship available and contributions are tax-deductible. The Mardi Gras Ball Corporate Sponsorship levels for 2025 are now closed. A name-change took place in 2008 and Williamson County Youth, Inc. was changed to My Friend’s House Family and Children Services, Inc. The switch to My Friend’s House (MFH) was done in large part to help ease the stigma the boys experienced referring to their stay in a group home.
