This means I’ve always done Norwegian but I tried out Mardi Gras at the end of last summer. It’s a pretty awesome ship. If it was just about the ship I’d say this one beats all of NCLs. NCL still wins on the restaurants, nightlife, and entertainment. Mardi Gras is awesome for the ship layout (superior pool and hot tubs) and better fast casual dining. The Norwegian Prima was built in 2022. The Prima is the first of six in a brand-new class of ship. It's 1 year newer than the Mardi Gras, which was built in 2021.The Mardi Gras pays homage to Carnival's first ship, also named the Mardi Gras.
