(WECT)— The Town of Oak Island is holding a highly anticipated Mardi Gras event this year. The Mardi Gras By The Sea Parade & Festival will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22. The event will feature a parade, food vendors, crafters, a Kids Zone and live music from Old Man Mafia Band. The parade starts at 11 a.m. on Keziah Street Mardi Gras By the Sea Festival and Parade will take place on February 22, 2025. The parade is set to begin at 11am and the festival follows, starting at 12pm. Kick off the new year with fun festivities for the entire family including delicious food from local vendors, a craft market, designated "Kids Zone", local musicians, and more! The Parade starts at 11:00 AM, with the Festival to start at NOON in the Middleton Park Complex. PLEASE NOTE: From 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM, the Parade Route will be CLOSED to all non-event traffic, to include all of E Oak Island Dr. from Trott St. to 46th St. A DETOUR will be available using Elizabeth Dr. and E Yacht Dr. as seen in the map provided.
