As a New Orleans native, nothing brings me more joy than seeing the magic of Disney coexist with the culture and spirit of my hometown, and Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is a testament to that! Once it reaches the end of Port Orleans French Quarter, the parade turns into the resort and ends up in the courtyard between the lobby and the Doubloon Lagoon Pool. Tip: We’ve attended the parade before and my best advice is to find a spot on the parade’s route along the river somewhere between Riverside and French Quarter. While it's still a bit early to know the exact timing of the annual parade, details are typically shared in the lobbies of the Port Orleans Resorts - Riverside and French Quarter a bit closer to the actual date, in years past it has kicked off around 10 AM near Acadian House at Port Orleans - Riverside before making its way to Port Orleans Revel in the romance and pageantry of New Orleans’s historic French Quarter at this Moderate Resort hotel. Discover cobblestone streets, gas lamps, wrought-iron balconies and fragrant magnolia blossoms, along with colorful Mardi Gras characters and the sounds of jazz. If you would like to experience New Orleans during Mardi Gras, I highly recommend taking a break one day and visiting Port Orleans French Quarter. There, you can experience the fun of Mardi Gras year-round through the resort's theme and nod to my daughter’s favorite princess, Tiana. There are Mardi Gras parades that start as early as the Twelfth Night (January 6, the annual start of the Carnival season), and things pick up towards the end of January. So, you won’t have any trouble finding excitement at various locations across New Orleans during Carnival time. The first is a parade put on by the cast members at both French Quarter and Riverside. This is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Disney’s Port Orleans Resort offered its yearly Mardi Gras Parade today after taking a year off. The theme was “50 Years of Magic” celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World. The parade ran from Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside to Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter. We always watch it at Port Orleans French Quarter. Disney’s Port Orleans Resort’s Mardi Gras Parade kicked off at 10:00 a.m. at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside as always, traveling to and through Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter. A large banner says “Disney’s Port Orleans Resort Mardi Gras Celebration”. Then, it was time to head over to Disney’s Port Orleans Resort for the annual Mardi Gras golf cart parade! The golf cart parade, or pargo parade, kicks off at the Riverside side of the resort, before rolling alongside the Sassagoula River, and then ending at the French Quarter side of the resort. Those rooms are a cautionary tale in pushing character integration too far, and they look cheesy as a result. This room is clearly Mardi Gras and Princess and the Frog-inspired, without going overboard with it. These Port Orleans French Quarter rooms thread the needle better, highlighting Disney characters and themed design at the same time. The Mardi Grogs pool bar is open from 11:30am until 9:45pm and serves a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks in a festive Mardi Gras setting. Other Facilities. Port Orleans French Quarter has one Laundry Room (the Laundry on the Levee) located near to the Mardi Grogs pool bar with guest-operated washing and drying facilities
