Featuring over 30 colorful floats, dazzling lights and dancers, our parade boasts beads and custom maracas made to shower on the faithful parade-goers. Parade Schedule . Friday, Feb. 21, p.m. – Krewe de Canailles Parade – Takes place in Downtown Lafayette. 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 – Krewe of Carnivale en Rio Parade: Scheduled beginning For parade-goers, the Krewe has bags of beads, amazing throws and custom maracas to toss out to the thousands that come out for this Mardi Gras Kick Off event. 2025 Parada rolls at 6:30 pm beginning in Downtown Lafayette. Make sure you have your “Right Here, Rio!” signs ready! 1:00 p.m. – Lafayette Mardi Gras Festival Parade; 2:00 p.m. – Independent Parade; Mardi Gras Day Street Closures. All streets in and around the parade route will close one hour before the start of the first parade and remain closed until the final parade has concluded and the area is cleared of pedestrians and vehicles.
