Paragon Industries is dedicated to serving the intellectually and developmentally disabled (IDD) community who we employ, providing opportunities not only to earn an income for their personal lives, but also help reinforce their independence and integration with the community. Mardi Gras beads are collected at The Arc Gateway’s Administration building (3932 N. 10th Avenue) and at our Pollak Industries Center (2313 Truman Avenue) and can be dropped off Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Arc of Acadiana hosts an annual bead drive to collect used Mardi Gras beads to re-stock our inventory of beads, which are then sold at our 6 resale stores and 3 Day program locations in Lafayette, Iberia, and St. Landry parishes for tossing off floats. The Mardi Gras Bead Recycling Center makes for a fun and festive volunteer outing, especially for large groups. Music is always part of the setting as volunteers are tasked with sorting, banding and bagging Mardi Gras beads and throws that are then sold to float riders. The ArcGNO Mardi Gras Recycle Center (MGRC) can arrange for the delivery and pick-up of recycle bins. To host a drive email or call the MGRC at 504-324-1919.
