Mardi Gras World is open 7 days a week, from 9:00am to 5:30pm, with the first admission beginning at 9:00am and last admission at 4:30pm. Mardi Gras World is closed on Christmas and Christmas Eve, Thanksgiving, Easter and Mardi Gras Day. Since 1947, our artists and craftsmen have designed and built the oldest and biggest parade floats and attractions for each Mardi Gras season, with over 500 floats built and decorated each year. To further support the museum’s development, the Board of Directors of The Mardi Gras Museum of Imperial Calcasieu is offering an opportunity for the public to contribute to its new interior by purchasing personalized bricks or tiles, with proceeds funding exhibits and preserving Mardi Gras history. The Germaine Cazenave Wells Mardi Gras Museum, named for successor and daughter of Count Arnaud, opened in the French Quarter restaurant on September 15, 1983.
