Founded in 1947, the Krewe of Thoth is named for the Egyptian Patron of Wisdom and Inventor of Science, Art and Letters. The krewe's original parade route was designed to serve people who were unable to attend other parades in the city. NEW ORLEANS — The 2025 Carnival season kicked off on January 6, and Krewe of Thoth will roll Uptown in New Orleans on Sunday, March 2, 2025. Still holding on to our roots we continue to parade on a route designed to pass some of the same institutions that we were organized to pass back in 1947. The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) operates bus routes across the city. Some regular routes are altered during the Mardi Gras season: All parade detours start two hours before the parade start time.
