Nestled between the 46th annual Run Thru History at Vicksburg National Military Park and the 13th annual Carnaval de Mardi Gras Gumbo Cook-Off at the Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation, the Officials with the Vicksburg Main Street Program have announced downtown Vicksburg’s 24th Annual Mardi Gras Parade will take place Saturday, March 1, beginning at 4 p.m. at the Belmont Jesters Ball February 28 @ 7:00 pm. The Gumbo Cook-off is one of the many events that are part of Vicksburg’s Carnaval celebration, which takes place on Saturday, February 10th. The Gumbo Cook-off is in conjunction with Second Saturday, the Mardi Gras Parade, and the Mardi Gras Ball, all of which make up the great Mardi Gras Festival in downtown Vicksburg. The City of Vicksburg and the Vicksburg Convention Center (VCC) will present the Third Annual Jester’s Ball on Feb. 3, 2024.
