Mardi Gras Decorators of Slidell owns 36 floats and has a virtual monopoly on St. Tammany parades, handling Eve in Mandeville, Olympia in Covington, and Dionysus, Poseidon, Slidellians and Titans Mardi Gras World opened in 1984 to showcase the studio and the work of the artists creating massive floats for the Carnival parades. The floats come with a lot of features, and for a lot of money. And this year, Mardi Gras World is responsible for providing all the floats for 18 of those parades. Not only does Mardi Gras World made floats, they also made other iconic statues around the country, including standing M&M’s in New York and Las Vegas and the infamous Chick-fil-a cows.
