It is hard to get around during Mardi Gras, the streets get closed to accommodate the parades. Even mail delivery (excluding essentials like medication) stops. Appreciate the advice, the post was more geared towards life outside of the parades though (I.e. how to manage getting around town during the season, if I should Mardi Gras-proof my house in anyway being located on a parade route, etc)
