LOUIS: Krewe of Real People, 1 p.m. About the Krewe of Chronos – Early in March of 1954, Frack C Lusco and Ivan Bergeron met with Thibodaux Mayor Charles E. Delas in hopes of bringing back the excitement and frivolity of the Mardi Gras Season, since it had been absent here for about 40 years, by attempting to stage a parade for the enjoyment of the old and young. Mardi Gras events will kick off on Friday starting at 4 pm. The kid’s parade will begin shortly after at 4:30. It will start on 15th and Beck and travel south down 11th street. Tickets start at $40, but all Mardi Gras parades will remain free to the public. “We want to keep this tradition alive,” said Krewe President Pam Wiggins. “But we need funding to make it happen.
