Carnival Breeze holds 30% fewer passengers than the Mardi Gras based on double occupancy (two people per room). When you look at the "Space Ratio," or tons of ship compared to number of passengers, the Breeze has the same amount of space per person as the Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras has the best food out of all Carnival ships. She has 22 different dining venues to choose from, including more interesting options such as Emeril’s Bistro, a New-Orleans inspired venue. But Mahogany Bay was not a great spot. Just a beach with abysmal food and shopping options. I’d probably still pick the Mardi Gras even with that, though. I’m a sucker for a shiny mega ship. I have been on both the Celebration and the Mardi Gras. They are basically identical minus some of the theme areas. The Mardi Gras has a New Orleans/Mardi Gras theme while the Celebration is Miami/Art Deco. The biggest difference in venues is two of the bars on deck six. They have different themes and drinks on the two ships. I booked a cruise later this year on the Carnival Breeze and ended up booking a Cove Balcony room. I like the idea of being right by the water and having some shade on the balcony.
