The Mardi Gras has the same number of dining venues. Some of its popular venues are Street Eats, Bonsai Sushi, and Piazza Panini. nineteen of these restaurants are complementary and the other nine have an additional fee. The Carnival Celebration has about the same number of dining options as the Carnival Mardi Gras. Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras are the newest and biggest ships in Carnival Cruise Line’s fleet. Both Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras are in the Excel class, with Carnival Jubilee joining them in December 2023.Carnival Celebration and Mardi Gras offer more fun than ever before; after all, that is part of their brand! The Excel class of ships are 40% larger than all the other I have been on both the Celebration and the Mardi Gras. They are basically identical minus some of the theme areas. The Mardi Gras has a New Orleans/Mardi Gras theme while the Celebration is Miami/Art Deco. The biggest difference in venues is two of the bars on deck six. They have different themes and drinks on the two ships. Carnival Celebration is the newest vessel from Carnival, while Mardi Gras showcases New Orleans culture and offers unique features like the BOLT rollercoaster and new dining options. Both ships offer a variety of accommodation options, including interior, ocean view, balcony, and suite cabins, as well as special options like Excel Suites I've narrowed our choices down to Celebration and Mardi Gras based on my casino offers. I've had better experiences sailing from Canaveral (Mardi Gras) vs. Miami (Celebration) but feel like Celebration might be the better ship? I haven't sailed on anything bigger than Breeze on Carnival and am not very familiar with pros and cons of the newer Just a bit of trivia.
