Mardi Gras in Galveston is a time for celebration, but navigating street closures and finding parking can be challenging. Here is everything visitors and locals need to know about parking during Mardi Gras 2025. Street Closures & Parade Routes: Feb 22 & Mar 1 (Parade Days): 25th Street and sections of Seawall Blvd. will be closed for parades At Mardi Gras Galveston, the extravagance found in Texas’ largest Mardi Gras celebration starts with the beads! More than 3 million beads will be thrown at Mardi Gras Galveston and that’s just the beginning of the elaborate parades, headliner performances, family events, feasting and other festivities that come with hosting Mardi Gras island style. Remember that paid parking along Seawall Boulevard remains in effect during Mardi Gras. Paid parking is enforced per licensed vehicle; vehicles and trailers parked along Seawall Boulevard must display a license plate and pay for parking ($2 per hour) between the hours of 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. seven days a week. Please note towing will be enforced. Seawall Parking: Overnight parking will be allowed on the Seawall beginning at 5:01 a.m. Thursday until 5:00 a.m. Sunday during the first weekend of Mardi Gras only. Vehicles parked on the Seawall must remain parked through the night parade on Saturday night. There will be no moving traffic allowed on the Seawall during the day Saturday. Mardi Gras!
