The Mardi Gras Museum of Imperial Calcasieu immerses you in all things related to Southwest Louisiana's family-friendly Mardi Gras! From the delectable seasonal king cake to the traditional Mardi Gras chicken run known as a Courir de Mardi Gras to how the fabulous over-the-top headdresses and gowns are imagined and created. The museum is slated to open in late 2025 The Museum also boasts a permanent art collection including works of John James Audubon, Boyd Cruise, Angel Gregory, and Lynda Benglis. Visitors to the museum can participate in various workshops throughout the year including a Courir de Mardi Gras mask making workshop. These can be scheduled in advance by contacting the museum.
