Each “krewe” should have a name, but business names are prohibited. Founded in 2010, this family-friendly event takes place annually on the sandy beaches of North Padre Island, Texas, blending the lively traditions of Mardi Gras with the laid-back, barefoot lifestyle of Embrace the spirit of the Gulf Coast at the Barefoot Mardi Gras, a vibrant and laid-back twist on the traditional Mardi Gras celebration! Set along the beautiful beaches of Corpus Christi, this annual event brings the parade energy of Mardi Gras to the shore, where attendees trade beads for bare feet and enjoy a one-of-a-kind beachfront parade. The parade route begins on Main Street and ends at Crestview City Hall on North Wilson Street. How can I participate in the parade? To participate, fill out the Krewe Parade Entry Application Parade Start: 1:00 pm; Sunday, February 23rd.
