Though it’s Little Rock’s largest Mardi Gras event, Barkus on Main is held in April of each year, regardless of when the holiday falls, so as to ensure perfect weather for our furry friends. Sixty parade floats, 90 vendors, 10 food trucks, mermaids from the Netflix documentary series “MerPeople” and more will descend on South Main Street in Little Rock’s historic SoMa district The Parade starts at 2:30 p.m. at the corner of 6th and Main and will head north to 4th and Main. The Barkus Block Pawty will take place on Main Street from 3rd Street to Capitol Avenue. The Pawty will get started at noon and resume when the parade is over.
