With 2,400+ members and 70+ floats, they are the largest parade on the first weekend of Carnival (known as “Family Sunday”) and the 7th largest Mardi Gras parade overall. Although this social club was founded in 1935, the Krewe of Choctaw didn’t have their first parade until 1939 when they bought ten old mail wagons from the U.S. Government – the chassis for the first Choctaw carnival parade floats. Detours will remain in place until parade route is cleared. Bus service not impacted by parades will be on their regular routes.
