On June 4 th, Mardi Gras met her homeport for the first time which would be the awesome Port Canaveral, of course. So maybe you should meet it too! So maybe you should meet it too! Port Canaveral is a great place to kick off a cruise from, especially with the beautiful, brand-new cruise terminal we built specifically to be Mardi Gras’ home. Given the size of Mardi Gras, a large terminal was needed to service the ship and the more than 10,000 passengers that could be embarking and debarking in a single day. To handle that traffic, the terminal is 185,000 square feet, making it the largest at Port Canaveral. Mardi Gras ship's itinerary program is based on Caribbean roundtrips leaving from homeport Port Canaveral (Orlando City, Florida USA), with preferential berthing at the new "Carnival Terminal 3" (CT3). The canceled in early-July "Caribbean 2020" program was planned to start after the Transatlantic repositioning from Europe. So here’s a brand-new ship with a familiar name. With this Mardi Gras ® we aren't just paying homage to our first ship — in cruising circles this name suggests innovation, signals the start of something big. Oh, and this Mardi Gras still shouts “fun!” at the top of its lungs. Everything about the Mardi Gras says “BIG fun“. In fact, to accommodate the Mardi Gras‘s 19 decks, 6,500 passengers, and 181,000 tons, Port Canaveral totally revamped Cruise Terminal 3 in 2018. Now, we’re proud to be the homeport for this awesome ship! The Mardi Gras has been making waves in cruising. The Mardi Gras is a beautiful ship, clean, smooth riding has a lot of venues to entertain all ages. Cabins are smaller than other cruise lines but comfortable and they have good storage. The ship will depart the port of Port Canaveral, Florida at 2:30 PM and will return to the port of Port Canaveral, Florida on Feb 22nd at 7:00 AM.
