For half a decade Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras has called upon our Ethical Charter framework during the final stages of prospective partnership opportunities. This ensures we enter into relationships with organisations who share our values and commitment to our communities, and who actively advance our communities’ missions through their First recognising Mardi Gras as a major festival in 2008, the City of Sydney provided $120,000 in sponsorship in recognition of its significance as a hallmark event and positive impact on the NSW economy. Since 2012, the City of Sydney has provided more than $2.25 million dollars in support of Mardi Gras through sponsorship agreements. The Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) was the event’s Principal Partner, and Airbnb, Facebook, Google, and Twitter also served as event sponsors. To mark the occasion of their 10th year sponsoring Mardi Gras, ANZ revamped its branch along the parade route with LGBT-themed murals and other pieces of art.
