GCCA hosted the Mississippi coast’s very first (official) Mardi Gras parade in 1908 and has been rolling yearly ever since. The Covington Police Department (CPD) is announcing route and safety information for the annual Krewe of Olympia Mardi Gras parade, scheduled to roll on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 6:00 PM. The parade route will close to vehicular traffic at 5:00 PM. CPD is committed to ensuring a safe and enjoyable Mardi Gras celebration for all attendees. This coming Sunday, February 12, 2023, is the 55th rolling of the Krewe of Nereids Mardi Gras Parade.
