The Carnival Mardi Gras has a total of 6 pools and 7 hot tubs. 2 of the pools are exclusive access, which means there's either an extra charge to access them or you need to book a certain class of cabin to have access to them. Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas has fewer pools than the Mardi Gras and more hot tubs. The Mardi Gras has the same number of dining venues. Some of its popular venues are Blue Iguana Cantina, The Chef's Table, and Piazza Panini. nineteen of these restaurants are complementary and the other nine have an additional fee. The Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas has about the same number of dining options as the Carnival Mardi Gras. They are basically identical minus some of the theme areas. The Mardi Gras has a New Orleans/Mardi Gras theme while the Celebration is Miami/Art Deco. The biggest difference in venues is two of the bars on deck six. They have different themes and drinks on the two ships. The Carnival Mardi Gras has 3 more bars than the Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas. The Mardi Gras has 16 bars like Piano Bar 88, Punchliner Comedy Club and The Brass Magnolia. On Mardi Gras, you can grab a drink at 13 different bars such as Boleros, Solarium Bar and Star Lounge. The Carnival Mardi Gras has 2 fewer bars than the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas. The Mardi Gras has 16 bars like Alchemy Bar, Java Blue Cafe and Tides Pool Bar. On Mardi Gras, you can grab a drink at 18 different bars such as Comedy Live, Music Hall and Solarium Bar. The Carnival Mardi Gras has 1 more bar than the Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas. The Mardi Gras has 16 bars like Fortune Teller Bar, The Watering Hole and Tides Pool Bar. On Mardi Gras, you can grab a drink at 15 different bars such as Playmakers, Star Lounge and Suite Lounge. This wasn’t my first time on an Oasis-class ship, as I’ve also sailed on sister-ship Allure of the Seas. Later in the year, I sailed on Carnival Celebration during its inaugural debut in North America. The ship blew me away so much that I decided to set sail on sister-ship Carnival Mardi Gras just a few weeks ago. Onboard entertainment options on Symphony of the Seas and Mardi Gras include extensive musical productions, Broadway shows on Symphony of the Seas, and unique themed staterooms on Mardi Gras. Comparing maximum capacities, Symphony of the Seas can accommodate 6680 guests while Mardi Gras can accommodate 6631 guests.
