Established in 1993, the Mystic Krewe of Barkus is a non-profit organization benefiting animal charities. Barkus was started by Wood Enterprises, and the founding members are Thomas G. Wood, Kenneth French, and Scott Freeman. Barkus is an officially licensed Mardi Gras Krewe, and your dog can be part of the celebration. Registration information is available on their website and on the day of the event. For humans, there is a Barkus Royal Ball.
