Founded in 1993, the Krewe of Orpheus takes its name from Zeus and Calliope’s musically inclined son. Founding members include musician/actor Harry Connick, Jr. and his father, Harry Connick, Sr., former New Orleans district attorney. Krewe of Orpheus founded in 1993 celebrates every Lundi Gras. When are the 2025 Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans? Krewe of Orpheus: 6 p.m Since that first ride, Orpheus has been the most eagerly anticipated Mardi Gras parade of the season. The 2024 carnival season Krewe of Orpheus parade will roll on Monday, February 12, 2024 at 6:00 pm. On Lundi Gras, Monday, Feb. 20, the Krewe of Orpheus will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a parade followed by Orpheuscapade – the biggest dance party of Mardi Gras! The 2023 parade theme, Dark Dictums of Childhood , will roll Uptown with a procession of 42 floats, 1,500 members and 30 marching units led by Emmy and Golden Globe winner Track the lead and tail of parades as they roll with our parade tracker at routewise.nola.gov. RTA Impacts. The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) operates bus routes across the city.
